Recipient Org: Description Team Oasis began in September 2003 as a mobile after schools group taking 8 young people of all different ages and backgrounds out of their school and home environments to try new activities, outdoor fun, sports and socials. These groups lasted for 6 weeks and then done, but the kids were not ready for it to be finished. This then prompted Paul, our founder, to set up a football team under the name Team Oasis FC. The football became a raging success, but we still had a large number of children who were disenfranchised and not being given the opportunities they were entitled to. At this point we began Team Oasis Performing Arts, which encompasses all forms of dance and drama for children of all abilities. Over the years our repertoire of activities have only grown and grown, now 20 years on we deliver all of these activities: Sports: Football, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Kudo (Martial Arts), Multi Sports. Creative Arts: Dancing, Drama, Music Lessons and Recording, Film Making, Photography. Youth Development: Educational and Respite Day Trips/Holidays, Arts & Crafts, In House Youth Groups, Careers/Higher Education Support, Work Experience, Schools Link Project. These are all of the youth activities we currently offer, but we are always looking to expand and explore new services. Alongside all of this we also deliver an array of community wide support. This support comes in the form of a free food banks which see’s families across Liverpool coming to us and collecting free food each week to feed their families.
