Recipient Org: Description Drop Zone Youth Projects is a well established youth organisation. We support children, young people, and families throughout the Furness area from the ages of 8-21, (23 if vulnerable). We currently operate from 3 buildings and pre-Covid were delivering in 5 localities. Throughout Covid we have predominantly delivering detached youth work enabling us to meet young people in their own environments and offer advice, support and guidance. We are often joined with our partner agencies and the local police. We also deliver an extended education provision for young people who find engagement in mainstream education difficult. Local secondary schools and the Local Authority refer young people into this service for a number of reasons. We provide a more informal learning environment, delivering a broad curriculum including Maths, English, ICT and essential life skills and transition support. We have also developed a transition project alongside our local authority and our education and provider partners to support young people moving into post 16 provision and those that are at risk of becoming NEET.
