Recipient Org: Description | It’s the People in the Borough of Brentwood joining together to make our area a safer, happier and friendlier place to live our lives. A neighbourhood where crime is less likely to take place and anti-social behaviour is not an accepted occurrence. It’s about you looking out for your neighbours and them looking out for you, regardless of age, race or class and for the good of all. Making sure no-one need feel isolated and alone, scared or vulnerable in the place where they live. Membership is Free and each week members will receive two emails – one from Essex Police covering Crime Reports for the Borough and the other from us giving Crime Prevention advice/blog. We aim to enrol as many Residents as possible. We appreciate that not everyone has access to the internet so we hold regular Community Engagements in the (3) Libraries, High Streets, Shopping Centres, Community Centres etc. where we will distribute Crime Prevention booklets and items. Often we will be accompanied by Officers from our local Community Policing Team and/or Community Safety Partnership at these events. We also appear alongside The Community Trailer when it visits various parts – particularly outlying/rural parts, of the Borough. In addition we give Safety Talks in Care Homes and Sheltered Housing. Needless to say we work closely with the Police, Fire & Rescue, Crimestoppers and other relevant Agencies. All ‘work’ is carried out by unpaid Volunteers. |
