Recipient Org: Description Living Potential Care Farm (LPCF) uses the resources of a 500 acre working farm to derive therapeutic benefits for our members. Over 60 regular members and 5-10 volunteers attend the farm each week. Regular activities such as animal care and horticulture are tailored to the individual strengths and needs of the members, who live with significant challenges such as learning disabilities, autism, dementia, and physical disabilities. We aim to maximise an individual's potential and improve their quality of life, helping them to thrive through providing an inclusive, social, work-based environment that is high quality, person-centred, safe and enjoyable. Our members are continually learning and developing, increasing in confidence, skills, knowledge and social interaction. We offer qualifications through ABC, Skills and Education Group. In addition to our regular members, we work collaboratively with a range of partners; a pupil-referral unit, a specialist school, a refugee and asylum seeker group and dementia day care group use the facilities weekly. Other groups, such as domestic abuse survivors, use the facilities occasionally. We are currently at capacity and have continual requests from partner organisations to open up the farm to other vulnerable groups, people with mental health difficulties in particular. In 2023, we gained access to a derelict Walled Garden that we aim to turn into a thriving community garden, which will provide therapeutic horticulture services to a range of people most in need. This grant will kickstart this, with a pilot growing project that will nurture people and the land.
