A two year project to run workshops and courses for deprived and disadvantaged young people in Shirley and the surrounding areas. Workshops are all themed around music and include dance, song writing and DJ activities. After the workshops, young people will perform at events and have their work put on the groups website and on multimedia like DVD's for them to keep. The project will help young people discover their creativity thus increasing personal confidence and self esteem.

Activity based youth clubs for 11-18 year olds living in deprived areas
The young people will be offered the chance to take part in youth sessions 5 nights a week at the Robsack Centre and 5 nights a week at the St Nicholas Centre. Working in partnership with Hastings and Rother Youth Development Service, Hastings Borough Council and NSPCC, they will ensure that young people have access to sports sessions, drop-in counselling and activity sessions throughout the week.

New Horizons for Young People in rural high peak and dales
The grant would be used to increase the amount of activities for young people with additional needs and disabilities in an area of North Derbyshire where young people are socially isolated (this could be through a youth club, activity days and volunteering). Areas that are recognised as having "high deprivation" would be targeted. Opportunities would be created for volunteers, many of these would be young people themselves.

Teen cafe action group
The aim of our project is to create a place where young people between the age of 13-17 can go which would be their "Teen Cafe". The aim is to develop the cafe from a practice tuck shop in the current youth club, a day trial within the current neighbourhood centre cafe to a viable social enterprise within 3 years. Between the hours of 16:00-21:00 the cafe would be open to young people only. It would also be staffed by young people. This would provide part time employment.
