Since 2014 the Local Conversation has enabled people living in the Upper Afan Valley to address local issues. The themes which emerged are: the need to support key local voluntary organisations, the need for grant support for other local community groups, lack of opportunities to enjoy the local environment and lack of good transport links in the area.
