OPEN ROUND Inter Generational Mutuality Project

Cook, Eat, Chat
Following a successful pilot we would like to run 6 six week cook and eat for socially isolated people over 50 living in Inner East Leeds. Attendees will spend a couple of hours at the Leeds Cookery School preparing, cooking and eating a healthy main meal together and will be supported by a Cookery School chef and a Zest Community Worker. We anticipate an average attendance of eight people per block.

The activity involved working with BAME Health and Wellbeing Hub and Wykebeck Valley Day Centre together with three professional artists. Transport - 'Get there-Your Way' Project
The transport needs of our members are complex and we wish to implement a strategy that simplifies these needs, utilising existing community transport providers, private hire companies, our walking group and a buddying scheme. This will involve encouraging existing transport users to walk to groups where possible, with support if necessary, and to maximise capacity in all other modes of transport that we currently use, taking into account the individual needs of members.
