The project is to produce a short film about the history and work of the care group and how its people and services impact on the lives of the service users. The aim is to advertise the group's services and accurately reflect the work that they do. A group of service users would design, direct and produce this film under the guidance of an experienced film maker. This project will celebrate the group's 50th anniversary with three separate events. This will bring together the whole community.
The Positive Living Project
This is a project by a registered charity in Manchester. The organisation will use funding to deliver a range of workshops to motivate and educate people with mental health issues through positive thinking, emotional resilience and stress awareness. This will provide the opportunity for people with mental health problems and volunteers to participate in positive activities to increase their confidence and reduce isolation.
The Positivity Living Programme
The main project activity is for older people to attend a programme of weekly workshops led by an experienced trainer to learn key strategies to increase their emotional resilience and be more responsible for their physical and mental health. This approach creates powerful and lasting change, whilst at the same time meeting their need for company and connection.
