Installation of a soft playroom
Community Links was established in July 1997 and facilitates an extensive network of community-based activities for children and young people, involving over 3,700 individuals each week. Their programmes include carer/toddler groups, pre-school groups, toy libraries, after school clubs, at risk groups detach and youth work. This grant will allow the group to install a soft play room in their new children's and young peoples neighbourhood resource centre in East Ham.
OPEN PLAY
This two-year project based on two deprived estates in the London Borough of Newham, will provide two 'designer play containers' measuring 40 x 8 feet including toilets, activity space, kitchen area, indoor and outdoor play equipment. The children aged 5-14 years old will be fully involved in the planning, running and development of the project.The play projects will also be fully accessible to disabled children who will participate in play activities with non-disabled children.
