Learning Centres, Barrow, Whitehaven and Carlisle
IT training and support will be provided to deaf and deaf and blind people and people with learning disabilities through four centres in Cumbria. Participants' training needs are assessed before the association delivers training directly or refers participants to another trainer. Participants also receive practical support to set up and maintain the computers at home.

Cumbria Deaf Association's idea is to consolidate and expand the service they offer in Dumfries and Galloway from the current intermittent service. The grant will fund staff and associated costs to undertake a needs analysis.

The association have recently gone through a refurbishment of their premises including disabled access and toilet facilities, they now require new floor coverings as at the moment they do not have non slip flooring which is a health and safety requirement.
