Better Health Outcomes for RAS
The funding will be used to build on existing work to give the local refugees and asylum seeker community a voice, helping to address health-related issues and provide early diagnosis and intervention strategies to help avoid mental health deterioration and diet related issues.
Empowering Community Mobilisers from the Refugee & Asylum Seeker
The group will empower refugees and asylum seekers living in the North East to be advocates for change in their own lives, and to support change in their own communities. This will be done by forming 'learning communities' which will provide opportunities and safe spaces for people to discuss problems, support each other and fill knowledge and skills gaps, with the aim of improving the lives and opportunities of refugees and asylum seekers in the region.
