The purpose of the group is to offer help, advice and support to the local community in the Darlington area. The award will allow the group to launch a website, introduce new software and purchase a lap top. A consultant will be employed to design the website.
IT equipment
The organisation provides access to resources, services and information as well as running a volunteer bureau for community and voluntary organisations in Darlington. The grant will be used to buy up to date IT equipment. 4 computers including a server and backup.
SAS Project
This project will improve the infrastructure services available to community groups in the borough of Darlington and the surrounding area. It aims to develop the CVS as a centre of excellence by promoting volunteering opportunities and support; offering funding advice; offering sector specific information; improving networking and partnership opportunities and working and promoting good practice in management and governance.
Enhancing Community ICT Provision
This group will use an award to equip two community training/meeting rooms with projectors, interactive whiteboards and presentation software packages. Laptop computers will also be purchased which will expand the existing training services and be available for VCS organisations to hire for which there is a high demand.
