Speak with IT aims to support over 200 people with Aphasia across Yorkshire to regain and/or improve their communication skills and confidence. It will empower them to regain control of their own recovery, building confidence and coping skills. The project will also support partners, carers and family of those affected by Aphasia who suddenly find their roles and responsibilities altered as a result of this.
Speak with IT Continuation
Speak With IT supports stroke survivors who are experiencing aphasia, an impairment of language which affects people's ability to speak, read, write and understand to varying degrees. The funding will be used to continue its core one to one support provision and will allow the organisation enough time to diversify its income streams and seek alternative funding sources.
Barnsley Aphasia Tech Club
The funding will be used to deliver sessions for people with aphasia using specialist computer therapy programmes. The project aims to improve communication skills and reduce isolation.
