VSCE CMC Fund

Precious Memories
This existing two-year project continued to deliver group work activity, including music and movement, for people with dementia and their carers living in Bolton. People living with dementia experienced loneliness and stigma and their carers could become isolated and stressed. The project provided the opportunity to meet share experiences and improve their mental wellbeing. The idea came from the carers themselves and they were involved in the management and delivery of the project.

CLASH - Connect Leadership Active Skills and Health
Funding for the group will enable them years to continue delivering their CLASH programme with women across Bolton to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The group provide a wide range of activities that supports women to stay connected with other community members staying active both physically and mentally whilst enhancing their individual skills and talents.
Body and Mind connected
The funding will be used to deliver health and wellbeing sessions for BAME women and young girls who are living with mental health issues and some are victims of domestic abuse and violence. The project aims to build their confidence and wellbeing needs through access to information legal support physical activities and welfare checks.
COVID-19 Precious Gems Support
The funding will be used to continue supporting older women to remain physically and mentally active and to remain connected throughout the Covid-19 crisis by creating online groups. Volunteers will also make regular telephone calls to the women and give them support according to individual needs which could be dropping off their shopping prescription or any other personal support.

The organisation will deliver weekly craft based activity sessions for socially isolated older people and expand the range of activities to include gentle exercise classes. These will maintain the skills and engagement of the participants, improve their mental health by reducing their sense of isolation, and address issues of increasing immobility.
Purple Plus: Sharing and Developing Activities Project
They will sustain and develop an existing weekly knit and natter group for increasing numbers of older people, establish a new knit and natter group, in the culturally diverse Halliwell area of Bolton, and provide a new intergenerational craft club through collaboration with a local school. This will enable the organisation to provide additional social activities that will alleviate concerns regarding loneliness and social isolation, promote mental and physical wellbeing for older people.
