Empowering young people with disabilities in East Africa
The project will support young people with disabilities to help them gain employable skills, thereby increasing their opportunities for employment, and increasing their access to financial services. Training in vocational and business skills will also be offered through funding placements at local Vocational Training Institutes, supporting individuals to enrol on courses and then providing start up kits upon graduation.
Improving livelihoods for young people with disabilities
The project will work with young people to improve their livelihoods through greater accessibility of Vocational Training Institute courses. They will also further develop capacity of disabled people’s organisations to carry out advocacy work and connections between national and local branches. Learning opportunities will be coordinated for key stakeholders from across the region.
