Leading Our Lives
Leading our Lives aims to provide care experienced young people with a voice and real influence in the development of the fostering service. Young people will gain a range of transferable skills through involvement in project and fun activities, and dedicated training and support in areas that will enable them to participate in foster panels, social care inspections, media presentations and lobbying work.
FCA development and support project
The Fostering Network (FN) provide advice and support to foster carers throughout the UK. This project will provide local Foster Care Associations with a best practice model for engagement with statutory service providers including social services, and develop regional and national forums to unify the voice of foster careers, share best practice and have as positive impact upon policy and process development as possible.
Leading our Lives
This project aims to make positive changes to policy and practice within the fostering service. Care experienced young people and the sons and daughters of foster families will actively participate in advisory groups and consultation activities so that issues important to them are identified, along with policies and practices that can be improved. Young people will be trained to enable them to participate in foster panels, social care inspections, media presentations and lobbying work.
Fostering Network Wales
The project is to provide support to foster carers and children and young people in their care with the overall aim of improving the Fostering Service in Wales. The grant over three years will pay for a new F/T post of development worker, recruitment costs, rent, producing information, training, travel, office equipment, organsiational overheads and associated running costs.
Foster Focus Project
The organisation's mission is to ensure that all those who are fostered receive the highest standards of care. Current services include the provision of independent and confidential advice, training, counselling and support services to carers and social workers and representation on behalf of foster carers to local government and statutory authorities.
Fostering Links
This project is based in Glasgow but will meet the needs of foster carers across Scotland. The project will provide a range of interventions including, advocacy training, access to support networks and the introduction of an outreach service aimed at foster carers in rural locations. The project will run for three years and will directly benefit 450 foster carers, 40 organisations and indirectly 675 children. The project will fund salaries, training and overheads.

Strengthening Families Through Support Care
The project is to support and develop new support care schemes across Wales. Support Carers enable families to take time-limited breaks apart, by taking in children for a weekend a month, an evening per week, or other agreed regular period. The service is intended to reduce the need for the children to be taken into foster care.
Live Laugh Learn Programme
The organisation, which supports foster carers and improves the lives of children in care, will use the grant to provide a series of fun events for foster families across Northern Ireland.
Fostering Connections
The project will develop communication and networks within the Welsh foster care community and provide foster carers with training and skills to influence and play an active role in that community. The project will achieve this by increasing access to networking, support and development opportunities while promoting the involvement of foster carers in designing, planning and influencing fostering services.

Moving On - positive transitions through and out of foster care
This group will use the funding to provide support to children leaving a foster placement and who wish to maintain contact with the family particularly the foster carers birth children with whom they have developed a positive sibling relationship. Foster carers and their families will also be supported in relation to the termination of a placement. During the two year project the group will work with 120 children and families and 15 volunteers across Scotland.

The project will improve the lives of children in foster care and the children of the foster parents by engaging 38 young people across Scotland in a range of play, drama and dance workshops, which will help them express their creativity and share their experiences of care as well as organising a series of consultations to help improve the stability of foster placements and create new resources.

Let's Go! Summer of Sport.
The project will strengthen foster placements by bringing foster families together through sharing community activities and sport. The project will develop, create and disseminate ‘Let’s Go!’ challenge booklets to 4,000 foster homes across Scotland. The booklets will encourage foster families to engage with the Commonwealth Games 2014 by adopting ‘sporting challenges’: a family challenge and one suitable for the children in their care, with examples provided to inspire new ideas.
