A garden created by and for HIV positive people
This charity runs a clinical care centre for people affected by HIV and AIDS-related illnesses. They will use an award to transform their communal garden, with help from volunteers and a sessional co-ordinator, into a sustainable and stimulating space for people who are HIV positive and day care service users. Service users will have hands-on involvement in the project by planting, growing and eating the produce. Volunteers will also have the chance to learn new skills through teaching modules.
HIV and ageing project
This project provides specialist hospital care and health management services which enable people living with HIV to achieve improved health and wellbeing and increased independence. The funding will be used to engage ageing people living in East and West Sussex, including Brighton and Hove, who currently don't have access to HIV services, empowering people to better manage their health, fulfil their potential and break their cycle of disadvantage.
