Cycling Without Age Stockton on Tees
The funding will be used to train local volunteers to deliver trishaw rides to older and disabled people so they are able to enjoy a bike experience in local areas such as beaches and parks. This aims to reduce isolation and improve mental wellbeing.
Nimble Fingers Needlework & Books and Bakes
The funding will be used to set up a weekly group of older people who will meet for craft activities & a fortnightly book club. The project aims to reconnect older women to activities and friends and the group will be providing transport where people have less mobility.
Community Picnic Cinema
The funding is being used to establish a local community picnic cinema to support and encourage older and disabled people and their carers to engage in positive cultural activities that support socialisation shared positive experiences and themed conversations.
REACH
The group will offer workshops for adults with learning disabilities, carers and professionals to develop support services, information and a programme of presentations and sessions to tackle stigma in the wider community. It will provide people with independent and peer advocacy support to help them deal with issues, access support services and improve their training and employment opportunities.
