Open Your Mind
This new project "Open Your Mind" is a mental health campaign and peer education project which seeks to target 130,000 students in full-time and 150,000 students in part-time further education aged 16-25, many of whom are likely to have already experienced a period of mental ill health. The young people will be found in all 26 district council areas in Northern Ireland with significant clusters associated with third level colleges and universities in Derry, Coleraine, Newtonabbey and Belfast.

The five-year grant will benefit 250 people including people with severe mental illness such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder or uni-polar depression, carers and the general public from across NI. The project will focus on volounteering to promote recovery for people with direct experience of mental health issues and encourage them to access mainstream services.

The group will use the grant to run the Life goes on? project which will provide awareness events to four schools in the Belfast area.

Mind Wise New Vision - All Our Stories
Mindwise supports those at risk and affected by mental health issues throughout Northern Ireland. The All Our Stories project will allow people affected by serious mental health problems to create a series of short films to challenge the stigma and discrimination associated with these problems.

Linked In - Supporting Young People Leaving Police Custody
The grant will be used to work with young people, aged 13-20, who've been detained & charged in police custody but not yet appeared in court to be sentenced. The NI Appropriate Adult Scheme (NIAAS), which provides support for young people when detained, will refer them from custody suites in L'Derry, Musgrave Street in Belfast & Antrim police station. Project workers will offer support services & activities to stop them from reoffending & assist with issues affecting their lives.
