Living Well with Epilepsy
This project aims to reduce isolation and increase the confidence, self-esteem and quality of life for 144 people with epilepsy, their families and carers living in rural areas across Central Scotland. It will develop local self-help groups and deliver epilepsy awareness & self management training to people with epilepsy, their families & carers in 6 week blocks and set up support groups within isolated communities.

The group offer training and outreach work to schools and local hospitals to help teach the local community about epilepsy. The grant will fund a day trip, meal and travel costs.
Educational and personal development programmes for adults with epilepsy
The project will enable 48 people isolated by epilepsy to develop personal skills and knowledge, and participate in educational and employment opportunities to increase their economic independence and inclusion in society. People with epilepsy will receive one-to-one support to help them set and achieve life goals, participate in broadly-based education, training & personal development programmes, and move on to further education, training or employment at the end of the project.
Epilepsy Connections Mainstreaming Project
This project will improve the skills and confidence of people with epilepsy and will support them to move on to education, training or employment. Throughout peer support will be developed and ongoing one-to-one support provided. Individuals will participate in a range of leisure and social activities and will have access to a range of therapies. This five-year grant will fund staff salaries, running costs and overheads.
Befriending Project, Epilepsy Connections
This group will hold a summer day outing to Stirling for volunteer befrienders and befriendees from the Glasgow area. The grant will fund travel costs, lunch and entry fees to Stirling Castle for 45 people.
Epilepsy Fieldwork Service in Ayrshire and Arran
To continue their new, innovative Fieldwork Service in Ayrshire and Arran, offering ongoing support to nearly 4,000 individuals of all ages with epilepsy and their families, helping them better manage their condition, develop wider support networks, reduce stigmatism , achieve their full potential and promote greater understanding of epilepsy.

This group will use the funding to provide a programme of support for adults with epilepsy. The group will offer a variety of activities to participants focusing on self-management, health, wellbeing and education. The group will use the funding to deliver a 6-month wellbeing and self-management programme for people coming to terms with an Epilepsy Diagnosis. The programme will be delivered online and will work with local partners to support people in Greater Glasgow Ayrshire Lanarkshire Aberdeenshire and Forth Valley.
