10-Day Residential Personal Development Project
The Venture Trust has operated an outdoor activity centre at Applecross on the west coast of Scotland since 1982. The centre takes young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and builds their self-confidence and interpersonal skills. The grant will fund a 10-Day Residential Personal Development Project. Inspiring Young Futures
The project will support care leavers and carers in making positive changes in their lives. The project will support beneficiares in gaining new skills, overcoming challenges, boosting confidence and increasing self esteem. In the final phase of the project beneficiaries put what they have learned into action. The grant will fund salaries, travel, subsistence, programme costs and organisational overheads.
Venture Trust Positive Peer Support Project
The trust wish to launch a pilot project which will provide a peer mentoring project for young people who have worked through a Venture Trust programme. This grant will fund travel/substinence for 2 project trainers, travel/substinence for 4 community links workers, 16 travel cards for volunteers for 8 weeks, substinence for volunteers, venue hire, administrative support and an overnight event.
Social Enterprise Set Up
The Venture Trust will carry out research into the establishment of a social enterprise that will provide training in personal development techniques using the group's experience working outdoors for practitioners.
